Patient's Guide
Your Hospital Team
All hospital staff members wear a hospital identification badge for your convenience and security.

The Medical Staff
The physician who admits you is responsible for directing your care while you are a patient in the hospital. Your physician may also request the consultation of other physicians with regard to your care. If you have questions about your illness, please confer with your physician.

The Nursing Staff
Nursing care is provided 24-hours a day by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nurse assistants. A Nursing Supervisor is available 24-hours a day to assist you with any needs or concerns.

Dieticians
The hospital maintains a staff of full-time registered dieticians to meet your dietary needs during your stay. If you have questions about your meals or diet, please call ext. 6557 or 584-6557.

Pastoral Care
Pastoral care visits are offered to patients upon request. Hospital clergy can also contact your own clergy/home congregation or spiritual resources, and also offer family meetings on nursing units to assist with communications between family and hospital personnel. Holy Day observances for all faith traditions are also offered. Call ext. 6980 or 631-6980.

Patient Relations
Our Patient Relations Manager is here to accommodate the needs of patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Should you have a question or concern during your stay, please call ext. 6550 or 584-6550, during the hours of 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. At all other times, please dial "0" and ask for the Nursing Supervisor. Visitors may also stop by the Patient Relations office located in the main lobby.

Social Workers/Patient Care Coordinators (Discharge Planning)
Social Workers are assigned to each patient care area and are trained to help patients and family members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that relate to illness or hospitalization. They also work with patients and families to help deal with long-term illnesses and rehabilitation. Registered nurses, called Patient Care Coordinators, are also involved in discharge planning, which may involve arranging for home health care, medical or other adaptive equipment for your home, or for a period of care in a rehabilitation facility or nursing home as necessary. Call ext. 6590 or 584-6590.

Housekeeping
A member from the Housekeeping staff will clean your room daily. To contact Housekeeping, call ext. 6489, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-3 p.m. At all other times, please dial "0" and ask the Operator to page Housekeeping on call.

Volunteers
Volunteers contribute many hours of service to the hospital. They supplement the services of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their name tags. Click here for Volunteer Opportunities.
