The Emergency Department (ED) at RWJ Hamilton provides state-of-the-art emergency medicine, treating patients with severe and life-threatening illnesses and or injuries. The ED is open 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. The department is staffed around-the-clock with specially trained emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs)

The Emergency Department serves an average of 57,000 patients per year from throughout the greater Mercer County area. The department offers some of the most advanced technologic equipment and therapies available, including computerized radiography, bedside registration, an angioplasty program and stroke certification.

The department is also equipped with an advanced computerized patient tracking and documentation system that connects with existing hospital information systems to find your prior hospital health history and keep track of your visit every step of the way.
