Triage

Everyone who enters the ED goes through the triage or sorting process. Coming into the ED via ambulance does NOT lead to being treated more quickly—the only thing that determines the order in which you are seen is how severely you are sick or injured.

Treatment will be provided regardless of ability to pay.

If you have a medical emergency or are in labor, you have the right to receive, within the capabilities of the hospital’s staff and facilities, the following:

• An appropriate medical screening examination
• Necessary stabilizing treatment (including treatment for an unborn child)
• If necessary, an appropriate transfer to another facility even if you cannot pay, do not have medical insurance or are not entitled to Medicare or Medicaid

If you do not have your insurance at the time of emergency, please contact the Patient Accounting department at 609.584.6780 as soon as you are able.
