RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Columbus Receives American College of Radiology (ACR) Mammography Accreditation

Facility Can Now Perform Specialized Imaging and Biopsies

9/11/2009

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY - RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Columbus is now an American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited facility for mammography. The accreditation allows the facility to perform specialized breast imaging and biopsies.

The accreditation was granted after a review by the ACR of the office, which opened in February 2009. To receive the accreditation, the RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center had to submit images produced from the digital mammography equipment, as well as results from physic testing performed on the equipment. Additionally, the ACR reviewed personnel credentials of the Radiologists as well as those employed at RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Columbus.

"We are very proud of this recognition from the ACR," says Ryszard Czarnuszewicz, MA, RT (R) (CV) (M) (QM), director of radiology. "With this accreditation, our services can exceed the scope of performing standard mammograms to produce more detailed imaging."

The ACR mammography accreditation also allows Medicaid and Medicare patients to access mammography imaging services at RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Columbus.

RWJ Hamilton Diagnostic & Treatment Center at Columbus is located at One Sheffield Drive, Columbus, NJ 08022. For more information, call 609.227.4580.
