11/18/2009

Many of our community members seeking information regarding flu vaccines turn to RWJ Hamilton for information because we’ve established our hospital as a trusted source for health screenings and education. We are being updated on a daily basis by the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services (DHS) on the status of these viruses. We recommend any community member seeking information including risk groups, symptoms and where you can get a flu shot, visit the DHS website for the latest updates. Visitor Policy Updates
In an effort to keep our patients safe this flu season, we have implemented a new visitor policy. Our policy reflects the recommendations of the New Jersey Hospital Association which have been adopted by most hospitals in New Jersey. The new policy includes the following guidelines for visitors:

  • NO visitors under age 18 are permitted in the hospital at this time.
  • Limited visitors. Only TWO visitors are permitted in a patient room at one time.
  • Only healthy visitors. Please refrain from visiting if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms. Flu-like symptoms include: fever, headache, tiredness, dry cough, sore throat, body aches and nasal congestion.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your consideration of the safety and welfare of our patients.
